A Read-Only Grid can only display static data. Dynamics 365 data occasionally needs to be visualised in ways other than just columns, so this is important.

Your custom records or customizations may, in the majority of cases, have Start End Dates, which are best seen visually. Calendar Control enters the picture here.

The Read-Only Grid

In Dynamics 365, you typically visualize your data as shown below.

As you can see, the data is similar to that of any other entity you could create.

Calendar Control

Here’s how to enable the Calendar Control to convert the current View into a Calendar Control.

  1. Go to Entity and click on Controls.

2. Then, look for Calendar Control and Add it.

4. Once you save and publish the changes, let’s see how the control looks like.

Viewing Data in Calendar Control

Now that all of the customizations have been published, here is how the Calendar Control will look.

Switching to Read-Only View

You must set it back to Read-Only because the default has been changed to the Calendar View.

  1. Look for the three hyphens and Click on ‘Show As’.

2. and Select Read Only

3. And you will see the Default Shown.
