Introduction for Relationships in Dynamics 365:
Today i got a requirement as we have a lookup in an entity and when we open related entities and click new, this popup need to populate immediately from the parent entity to related entity in Dynamics 365
this is the related entity i am using
Now when i click on +New it need to populate the who field immediately
to achieve this requirement we can easily do this without using power automate, javascript or workflows.
go to the 1:N relationships and open the relationship to related entity
Open the relationship and go to the mappings and click New
Now select the field in parent entity and related entity and next click ok and then publish everything.
Now we can see when i click new in related entity it will populate the field by default.
