In this blog, we can see the types of  workflows in Dynamics 365.

What is ment by a workflow in Dynamics 365?

A workflow is a powerful tool for managing data and activities. We can easily ensure that particular stages are followed and that needed business operations are carried out with the use of workflows.
Asynchronous workflow and real-time workflow are the two types of workflow.

Asynchronous Workflow in Dynamics 365?

Asynchronous Workflow – As its name implies, an asynchronous workflow waits for open slots in its allocated resources before executing its logic. In Microsoft Dynamics 365, a Windows service is a host application for asynchronous workflows, allowing the workflow engine to function. The Windows CRM server must have asynchronous workflows running to execute the workflow.

Real time Workflows :

Real time work flows are also called as Synchronous Workflows .These are defined using workflow entity records and were created with non-developers in mind. They can be run before, after, or even during the main process and use the Event Execution Pipeline to do so, similar to plug-ins. Additionally, just like with plug-ins, you cannot run a real-time process before or after the Create operation. Real-tine Workflows stop and reverse a platform’s primary operations. Asynchronous workflows and real-time workflows can both be converted.
